About Our School
The Brooklyn Adult Learning Center (BALC) provides free education for adults who are 21 years and older. This is a New York State funded program provided for the advancement of the community. All teachers and administration are rigorously screened and highly trained to deliver the best quality education possible. Teachers are New York State Certified and Licensed with in-depth experience in training adults. Mission & Vision
D79 Adult Education’s mission is to empower adults in their roles as parents, family members, workers, and community members. We promote lifelong learning and the development of problem solving skills through a continuum of services, including Adult Basic Education, English for Speakers of other Languages, High School Equivalency, and Career and Technical Education.
Extended Learning in
Basic Education and ESL
Our relaxed environment and extended learning program allow students to continue taking classes until they are comfortable moving forward to the next level. There is no pressure to move fast or slow and teachers gear lessons toward your pace. Take advantage of our small class sizes and student-centered approach. We are pleased to help you at no cost.
